OSL Cambodia 2008 Trip

Dear All,

I am very happy to say that we have just finished another year of OSL project in Cambodia. The 2 weeks trip to Cambodia was a tiring but enriching journey. All our hard work finally paid off. Our enduring spirit kept us going together with commitment and passion to keep the flame alve.

Keeping the motto ‘We Don’t Need A Reason To Serve’ within our hearts, we experienced hardships and learnt new things together. The team managed to bond together to form the OSL’08 family. A lot of them fell sick but they kept their spirits high. As a family, we help each other in any means possible. No forgetting the nightly reflections which most of us were desperate to keep ourselves awake. The trip truly made all of us realise how fortunate we are here in Singapore.

Now, although back in Singapore, our job is far from done. There are post-OSL work to be done. Writing reflections, reports, so on and so forth – none are spared. I wish them all the best and may the sweat, tears and the time spent in Cambodia be more than just memories.

Do visit this website to check on the updates of what we have done in Cambodia. Pictures will be uploaded soon.

Thank You

Yours Sincerely,

Update: BVSS OSL Team 2008

Dear All,

I am glad that Bukit View Secondary School (BVSS) Overseas Service-Learning (OSL) Project in Cambodia continues for another year. With new members and also a few new teachers joining in to be part of our effort, we hope to continue serving those in need.

The team has also established the Executive Committee(EXCO) with those who have had served in the OSL Project last year. I am please to mention that they are willing to continue serving without hesitations. The names of the teachers in-charge and the EXCO members will be put up on this website soon.

I am sincerely apologetic for the ever-awaiting update on this website. I will be updating soon with pictures and details of our past fund-raising efforts in our school so far this year. However, not forgetting the academic importance, updates will only be done after the Final Year Examinations. I apologise for the inconvenience caused.

Thank You

Yours Sincerely,
Muhammad Haniff MS

For Parents

Dear Parents,

Please make a copy of your child’s passport and keep it at hand during his/her stay in Cambodia.

By now, your child should have enquired if you need them to call you back upon arrival in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and when you would need them to call back home during our 2 weeks in Cambodia.

During tomorrow’s meeting, we will be organising the time chart to see who can call back home and during which time slots (after 8 pm Cambodia time, i.e. after 9 pm Singapore time) for the 2 weeks that we are in Cambodia.

In addition, click here for more information on the Embassy of the Republic of Singapore, Phnom Penh.

Thank you.

Yours,
Ms Sharon Low
